CODE OF PRACTICE
Talent International Institute has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. Copies of the Code are available on request from this institution or from the NZQA Website.
HEALTH AND TRAVEL INSURANCE
All international students must have current Travel and Health Insurance while studying in New Zealand. You need to bring or send us your insurance certificate when you enrol or if you do not have insurance we will organise it for you.
The Accident Compensation Corporation provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand, but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs. Further information can be viewed on the ACC website.
ELIGIBILITY FOR HEALTH SERVICES
Most international students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand. If you receive medical treatment during your visit, you may be liable for the full costs of that treatment. Full details on entitlements to publicly-funded health services are available through the Ministry of Health, and can be viewed on their website.
VISAS AND NEW ZEALAND IMMIGRATION
If you wish to study longer than 12 weeks you must apply for a Student Visa. To obtain a student visa you must be enrolled in a full time course.
Full details of visa and permit requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying, and reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand Immigration Service, and can be viewed on their website.
Additionally, more information on the immigration process can be found in the Student Handbook, which will be sent to you upon enrolment.
We will assist you with your student visa application.

PLACEMENT IN THE CORRECT CLASS
It is important to us that you are getting exactly what you want from your English class. This is why we invite you to attend a trial class for free. This will enable you to make an informed decision on joining us at Talent International Institute.
So that you can be placed in the correct class we will give you an entry level test on your arrival at Talent International Institute. This includes a reading and writing exercise which will take about 2 hours. After this you will be interviewed by one of our teaching staff to ensure that you are placed in the correct level.
