Bespoke Programmes Available

TII delivers high-quality, fun extended holiday programmes which enable students to study skills, team building and do activities such as painting, handcraft, robot science, model yachting, rock climbing, city tours to the museum, art gallery and parks.

CREATIVE ART & PAINTING

Help your children get excited about the visual arts, get creative and learn some new skills. Fun workshops with no more than 15 children to allow for maximum individual support. A wonderful, worthwhile, creative holiday activity for your children!

ROCK CLIMBING

TII offers a fantastic activity of learning and consolidating rock-climbing skills, during the school holidays for 9-15 year olds. A group of like-minded climbers will learn the basics of equipment, knots and skills to become independent indoor climbers, and also learn how to abseil safely. Lots of fun thrown in there as well!

CITY TOUR

Explore the central city of Christchurch and learn the history of the city and its people. Discover how the 2010-2011 earthquake sequence devastated the city but not the attitude of the people. Appreciate how a city rebuilds to make it more safe and welcoming for people to work, live and play.

PRESENTATION & SPEECH SKILLS

In this programme learners are taught skills that assist them to overcome their fear of public speaking and develop their self-confidence and awareness.
We build upon the skill set they already have as, most learners participate in speaking competitions at school.
Our programme allows them to further understand and develop the eight speech competencies that can be used in their incremental growth as a confident public speaker.

LEGO BUILDING

Tap into your child’s potential by encouraging their creativity with LEGO building holiday progamme. An educational and fun way for kids aged 7-15 to spend their school holiday! 
Children get to show off their engineering skills, problem solving, imagination and explore the world of Science, Engineering and Architecture during LEGO Building. Enrol in Motorised LEGO model building, Robotics, LEGO Master Builder Challenges and more fun activities!

CODING (SCRATCH)

Scratch programming has become a popular way to introduce coding to young people around the world, Scratch is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. It is used in more than 150 countries and available in more than 40 languages. The Scratch programming is designed especially for ages 8 to 16, but is used by people of all ages.


With the Scratch programming and online community, a learner can create their own interactive stories, games, and animations -- and share their creations with other learners around the world. As young people create and share Scratch projects, they learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.

ROBOT SCIENCE

Learn about robotics topics such as artificial intelligence and circuits while enjoying pictures and videos of the coolest robots around. 

Try making a robot or get some great ideas for a range of fun electricity based science fair projects.

LIFE SKILLS

Life skills go hand in hand with development, and can help your child succeed later in life. Discover the most important life skills your child should know and ways to incorporate them into your daily routine.

Entry Criteria:

5-13 years of old 


Fees:

NZ$400 for the full programme (Two weeks)

NZ$230 for the first/second week (one week option)

[include morning tea, equipment, resources and materials]


Timings:

9am – 3pm


[Session 1: 9am – 12am]. Morning class.

Morning tea 10.25am-10.45am (served by TII)


[Lunch 12-1pm (student to bring own lunch or $20 extra provided by TII)]


[Session 2: 1pm – 3pm] Activities.
