Talent International Institute

Is situated at the Old Law Courts building, now known as Huadu New Zealand Education Centre (HNZEC) located in the centre of Christchurch City on the banks of Avon River adjacent to Victoria Park and opposite the Christchurch Town Hall.

HNZEC Building interesting facts

The HNZEC building is a state of the art educational facility, equipped with modern classrooms, student and staff areas, and self-study spaces.

The HNZEC building retains the iconic brutalist architectural character on the exterior of the building and is considered a landmark by the citizens of Christchurch.

Many of the original interior fixtures and features including ‘The Kauri dais' on level 4 which is in the former high court chamber has a history that dates to the end of the 1860s when it was built around the judge's bench.

The building has extensive wall panelling of native New Zealand heart rimu, which is considered a national treasure in itself.

The high court hall on the ground floor adjacent to the public entrance has been largely preserved in the original state with its impressive judicial bench.

Some of the former small courtrooms have been converted into classrooms with minimal alteration to keep the integrity of the original building.
